Under new ownership, the former Sportsman Golf Resort has always been a favorite along the Gulf Coast. This layout which hosted the PGA TOUR's Pensacola Open for ten years is currently being restored to its original links style. The name is back to the original and so is the integrity of this player friendly, no gimmick, natural achitecture. Gone are the numerous pine trees that were not in the original design. Replacing them are large natural waste areas filled with native Florida foliage. Immediate plans include reconstruction of all eighteen putting surfaces, as well as greenside bunkers. Onsite golf villas offer year round golf package opportunities.
